AM Demodulators (or) AM Detectors - Envelope Detector

AM Demodulator (or) AM Detectors:

  • Demodulator is a circuit which is used to recover the original modulating signal from a received signal at the receiver.
  • It is the reverse process of modulation

Types of AM Demodulators:

  • Linear Detector
    • Coherent Detector
      • Ex: Synchronous Detector
    • Non-Coherent Detector
      • Ex: Envelope Detector
  • Non-Linear Detector
    • Ex: Square Law Detector

In this blog, the envelope detector method is explained.
