Effective Aperture:
- The concept of Aperture is a measure of how effective an antenna is at the receiver side to receive the maximum power of electromagnetic waves.
- Aperture is the area which is oriented perpendicular to the direction of an incoming EM waves.
Types of Aperture:
- Effective Aperture (Ae)
- Scattering Aperture (As)
- Physical Aperture (Ap)
- Loss Aperture
- Collective Aperture
Effective Aperture:
- It is defined as the ratio of power received at the antenna load terminal to the power density of the incident wave.
- It is the area over which the antenna extracts the EM Waves from the transmitted signa
Aperture Efficiency:
- It is the ratio of the effective aperture to the physical aperture.
