Physical Significance of Transmission line equation - Input impedance and Transfer Impedance

Physical Significance of Transmission Line Equation:

  • Transmission Line Equations are used to find the voltage and current at the sending end of the transmission line
  • To find the Input Impedance and Transfer Impedance of the line
  • To find the length at which the maximum power is transferred
Input Impedance:
  • It is defined as the ratio of the voltage to current at the sending end of the transmission line (Zs)
Transfer Impedance:
  • It is defined as the ratio of voltage at the sending end to current at the receiving end of the transmission line.
