Antenna Impedance Matching - BALUNs, Stub Matching and Quarter-wave Transformer

Impedance Matching:

  • Impedance matching is the process of matching the load impednace to sorec impedance for maximum power transfer.
  • Advantages:
    • To deliver the maximum power
    • To remove the mismatch loss
    • To minimize the signal reflection
  • Impedance Matching Techniques:
    • Stub Matching
    • Quarter-wave Transformer
    • Folded Dipole Antenna
    • BALUN (Balanced to an Unbalanced Line)
  • Stub Matching:
    • Stub is a very small length of transmission line
    • Single Stub Matching
    • Double Stub Matching
