PIN Diode:
- A PIN diode is a diode with a wide, undoped intrinsic semiconductor region between a P-type and N-type semiconductor
- It acts as a electrically variable resistor which is related to the thickness of the 'i' region
Operation of PIN diode:
- At zero bias condition
- Forward bias
- Reverse bias
Applications:
- PIN Diode can be used as a Switch
- PIN Attenuator
- PIN Phaseshiter
- Transmission Type switched line phase shifter
- Reflection Type hybrid coupled phase shifter
- Transmission Type loaded line phase-shifter
